01. What products do you offer?
We currenly offer whole pasture raised chicken, pasture raised chicken and duck eggs. We will have pastured raised turkey and pork along with grass fed beef and lamb in the future. Add your name to our mailing list for updates on product availability and news from the farm!
02. What breed of chickens do you raise?
For meat, we raise Cornish Cross chickens. We have chosen this breed for their combination of a quick grow out time, excellent feed efficiency, foraging ability, large breast size and great meat quality.
Our laying flock of chickens consists of Black Australorps, Barred Rocks, and Golden Comets. These breeds have great foraging ability, large frames, are heat tolerant (which is very important in our location), and are excellent egg producers.
For our laying flock of ducks, we raise Khaki Campbells. These ducks are excellent egg producers, have a large frame, and forage well on pasture.
03.Where do you get your chicks?
We receive day old chicks and ducklings from eFowl.com. They arrive at our local post office within 24 hours of leaving the hatchery. We are contacted as soon as they arrive, so that we can bring them directly to the brooder at our farm where they promptly receive fresh water, feed, warmth from heat lamps, and a lot of TLC.
04. What do you feed your chickens?
In addition to fresh pasture, our chickens receive 100% USDA certified organic feed. Our chickens never receive antibiotics or added hormones.
